About Leslie Todd

Welcome!
I’m a self-taught artist in Baton Rouge, focusing on vivid, textured florals and landscapes. With texture, I can create surfaces that have as much presence as color. Simple subjects become charged with energy. An energetic painting will transform any room.

I made my living with words–first as a teacher (English at LSU) and then as a psychotherapist in private practice for 35 years.
I spoke around the country and taught many workshops. At midlife, words started to bore me. My brain leaped to images, and my painting life began.
I’ve delighted in making friends with other artists and living in that part of my head. I’m in love with nature, and my art reflects that. My husband and I enjoy Cajun dancing and bike tours of local and foreign locales. And those grandkids in Dallas have my heart.
